Continue the City’s commitment to ensuring safe housing for all tenants by intensifying efforts to inspect rental units across the City.
In ProgressContinue to implement Thriving in Place and Housing SLC strategies, including tracking, monitoring, and refining the Tenant Resource Center and the Rent Assistance Fund for Tenants (RAFT); explore revisions to the Good Landlord Program with the Finance Department and explore additional consumer protection strategies.
In ProgressFacilitate and find opportunities to streamline the development of new family-sized and family-oriented housing through building permits and inspections; planning and zoning; programs and incentives; and/or redevelopment of City property.
In ProgressLaunch the Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) Preservation Program to carry out property improvements on existing rental housing while preserving affordability through a deed restriction.
In ProgressContinue to support affordable ownership and wealth building opportunities, including expanding the Community Land Trust’s inventory through the acquisition and/or new construction of single-family homes and/or lower-density multifamily properties.

In ProgressContinue support and funding of affordable housing through the Agency’s Housing Development Loan Program and property dispositions. Target approximately $8.3 million in funding for the development of 300-400 new affordable housing units that prioritize family sized units, wealth building opportunities, daycares, and deeply affordable units. (Family Support) This is a multi-year goal that will continue to see focus on housing priorities across multiple Agency programs.
In ProgressNew Park West of Backman Elementary School: The City will open a new park in the Fairpark and Rose Park neighborhoods, west of Backman Elementary School. This will be the first project funded by the Parks GO Bond’s “Jordan River Corridor” program, aimed at increasing access to open space and promoting community well-being.
In ProgressLiberty Rotary Play Park Construction: Construction will begin on the Liberty Rotary Play Park, designed to create an inclusive, accessible space for children and families of all ages and abilities. This park aims to foster social interaction and provide a welcoming environment for the community.
In ProgressExpansion of Pickleball Courts: In response to the growing demand for recreational pickleball, the City will complete the construction of twelve additional pickleball courts on the Westside. Ten courts will be built at Glendale Park and two at Poplar Grove Park, providing more opportunities for active lifestyles and community engagement.
In ProgressImprovements to Foothill Trailheads: The City will enhance accessibility to Foothills trails by making improvements to trailheads and installing new signage at 24 minor trailheads. These efforts aim to provide safer access, a more welcoming experience, and promote environmental stewardship for trail users.

In ProgressJordan River Corridor Partnerships: To enhance community involvement and ensure diverse, inclusive recreational opportunities along the Jordan River Corridor, the City will formalize partnerships with the Salt Lake City School District and nonprofit organizations. These partnerships will expand programming and activation at the Cornell Wetlands, Backman Community Open Space, and the Three Creeks Confluence, supporting families and students in the community.
In ProgressSLCPD will launch the Community Impact Division (CID) to increase officer presence and reduce crime downtown.
In ProgressSLCPD will deploy its Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) to aggressively target gang activity and disrupt the spread of narcotics and firearms.
